This provides a step-by-step process that provides information and materials (i.e. instructions, videos and links) that will show you how to complete each phase of the divorce application process yourself.

You Do It – We Help

Appropriate for people who require some assistance to complete various divorce forms and do not require legal advice.
We obtain information from you and then provide the draft form to you to carefully review, file and serve yourself. You can choose to pay for each document separately or all at once.

Begin with an initial 45 minute consultation with a lawyer who will work with you to understand your specific circumstances and help you every step of the way.
What's included?
If you consider your matter to be more complex than usual, we will provide you with the details of a legal service that you can trust to help you obtain independent legal advice.
In most cases we will be immediately available to help you.
We support all of Australia, except WA
Currently our products do not cater for divorce applications where both parties reside in Western Australia at the time of divorce as Western Australia runs a different process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I purchase additional items at each step?
Absolutely. Legal issues can be fluid, and you are welcome to purchase from You Do It – We Help or We Help You at any time. We’re here to help if your circumstances change. We have a contact form and an email to get in touch with us directly and suggest the most appropriate approach.
What can I expect with You Do It – We Help?
The You Do It – We Help option is still very much DIY, but it saves the hassle of finding the latest document templates and populating them in appropriate legal jargon. For each document type, we have crafted a survey for you to fill out, and we will prepare a draft of the document for you. If you require legal advice, we can point you in the right direction.
What other costs are involved?
The standard Court filing fee for an application for a divorce is $1,100. If you are eligible for a reduction, then the Court filing fee is $365. There is no GST charged on Court filing fees. Please be aware that if you are making a joint application for divorce, you and your former spouse will both need to be eligible for the reduction.
